Ultrasonic Velocity and Attenuation in KH2PO4

Abstract
The velocity and attenuation of ultrasonic shear waves have been investigated at temperatures above TC=121.82°K in single-crystal KDP. An elastic Curie-Weiss law, (s66Es66P)=D(TTC), is obtained with an elastic Curie constant D equal to 6.31×1011 dyn1 cm2 deg. The attenuation data are consistent with a cooperative relaxation time at constant stress τ which varies as τ=24×1012(TTC) sec.
