To the Editor: The appearance of the article by Higginbottom et al. in the August 17 issue of the Journal was timely for us and helped with the diagnosis of a similar child, a 7 1/2-month-old girl admitted to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia because of ill temper and an increasing yellow hue of the skin.The child was the 3200-g product of an uncomplicated term pregnancy with regular prenatal care.
