STUDIES ON THE PROTEOLYTIC BACTERIA OF MILK I. A MEDIUM FOR THE DIRECT ISOLATION OF CASEOLYTIC MILK BACTERIA

Abstract
A new sugar-free casein agar is described, in which the casein is in a fine suspension similar to its condition in milk. This medium was found more reliable and useful for isolation and identification of caseolytic organisms than other casein-agar media or milk agar.
