Abstract
The differentiation of the snail H. aspersa prostate gland is studied in animals from 1-6 mo. Organogenesis, the primary stage of secretion (3 mo.) and a stage where the prostate gland shows abundant secretions (6 mo.) were described. At this stage the oviduct is still undifferentiated. Ultrastructural analysis shows the formation of secretory and ciliated cells in epithelial prostatic tubes.
