Synthesis and X-ray crystal structure of the novel cluster anion [Rh12H(N)2(CO)23]3–; an irregular metallic array containing two interstitial nitrogen atoms

Abstract
The anion [Rh12H(N)2(CO)23]3–, obtained by alkaline pyrolysis of [Rh6N(CO)15], contains a novel irregular dodecanuclear metallic skeleton which shows a trigonal-prismatic and a distroted square-antiprismatic hole occupied by two encapsulated nitrogen atoms.
