Abstract
An amorphous ferromagnetic system has been studied by the coherent-potential approximation method at the zero-temperature limit. Going beyond the mean-field theories the present calculation predicts the existence of a critical fluctuation of the exchange interaction beyond which ferromagnetism cannot occur. A comparison with the Green's-function theory developed by Montgomery et al. reveals certain important differences. Keywords
