OPTIMAL DIAGNOSIS OF RENAL MASSES IN CHILDREN BY COMBINING AND CORRELATING DIAGNOSTIC FEATURES OF SONOGRAPHY AND RADIOGRAPHY

Abstract
Diagnostic B-scan ultrasound and urography are not competitive, but complementary diagnostic modalities for the diagnosis of renal masses in children. As illustrated in the case presentations, differential diagnostic features of congenital hydronephrosis, congenital multicystic disease, obstructive uropathy, Wilms’ tumor, and obstructive vascular disease of the kidneys are most accurate when both modalities are utilized.
