Abstract
Using an integral representation involving the radial Coulomb Green’s function an analytic closed-form expression is derived for the dynamic multipole polarizability of atomic hydrogen in an arbitrary state. The application of the general expression to practical problems is discussed. Comparison is also made with other theoretical models. Keywords
