Abstract
Two siblings ages 14 and 15 with the Chediak-Higashi syndrome, who exhibit both typical features of this disorder and unusually severe cutaneous infections, are reported. The characteristic findings are presented, and related to observations reported in other patients with this disorder. The cutaneous lesions are described in detail, and possible causes for the increased susceptibility to infections shown by patients with this syndrome are discussed. Both patients, who are among the oldest reported with this disease, have responded well to cutaneous hygiene and antibiotics.
