Abstract
THE genus pasteurella includes a group of organisms having somewhat similar morphology, cultural characteristics and antigenic structure. The virulence of the group varies widely from the extremely virulent Pasteurella pestis to the relatively benign Past, multocida and Past, haemolytica. Past, haemolytica infection in man is extremely rare. The case of bacterial endocarditis with perforation of a mitral-valve leaflet caused by this organism reported below is to our knowledge the first case recorded in the medical literature in English.Case ReportM.G., a 54-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital on May 25, 1962, by her sister because of diarrhea . . .This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
