Predator efficiency of Lygus hesperus Knight was evaluated in a series of 5 treatments: (1) Geocoris pallens (Stal), (2) Nabis americoferus Carayon, (3) Chrysopa carnea Stephens, (4) the naturally occurring predator complex, and (5) Control or check. Geocoris pallens was very effective on egg-nymph or nymph populations of lygus bugs. Nabis americoferus was effective as a predator on the egg-nymph stages when confined to sleeve cages, but ineffective in large (183 cm × 183 cm × 366 em) field cages. Chrysopa carnea was ineffective. The natural predator complex provided 53–76% control of lygus bugs in the egg-nymph state.
