Abstract
The 13 North-European species of “Cyclostrema” sensu Jeffreys 1883a are reviewed, and the history of their changing nomenclature and supergeneric status is outlined. The radula of Margarita pusilla Jeffreys, 1847 (= Skenea nitens (Philippi, 1844)) is described and figured. On the strength of its type of radula this species is removed from the genus Skenea Fleming, 1825, and placed in Dikoleps gen. nov. Skenea cutleriana Clark, 1849, is tentatively referred to the same genus. Dikoleps is placed in the subfamily Umboniinae in the Trochidae. The remaining “Cyclostrema” species from North-European waters are all provisionally referred to Skenea. Keywords
