Abstract
Here we review epidemioiogical studies of the occurrence of gastric cancer in patients treated for peptic ulcer disease by partial gastrectomy, vagotomy or by medical treatment. Twenty or 30 years after partial gastrectomy, the relative risk of gastric cancer is about two- to five-fold. It is uncertain whether peptic ulcer treatments, other than partial gastrectomy, are associated with an increased risk of gastric cancer. Keywords
