Fourier-Mellin Transform and the Invariant Image Moments

Abstract
Relationship between the algebraic invariants and the Fourier-Mellin transform of an image irradiance distribution function is revealed. Method is developed for deriving the image moment functions that are invariant with respect to image translation (shift), rotation and size changes without the aid of the theory of algebraic invariants.Keywords
