Abstract
The effect of pressure on the Curie temperature has been measured for 13 ferromagnetic materials, comprising 4 elements (Fe, Co, Ni, Gd), 7 metallic alloys, a ferrite, and a perovskite. Curie points ranged from 16°C (Gd) to 1120°C (Co), and pressures up to 9000 atoms. The results are in disagreement with two common forms of the interaction curve. The result obtained for Fe is not in agreement with the prediction of Kornetzki, based on volume magnetostriction measurements between 20°C and 100°C.Keywords
