Abstract
A reliability concept is considered in which telephone traffic is taken into account for a telephone network. An analytic model of a simple network with parallel paths shows how telephone traffic is included in the telephone network reliability analysis. Examples are given to demonstrate the usefulness of this concept in the investigation of an optimum inspection policy for each path, and the effects of path age and failure rate on telephone network service. Keywords
