Abstract
The magnetic properties of a relativistic electron gas have been studied by evaluating the magnetic moment of an assembly of relativistic electrons in a constant magnetic field. The diamagnetic contribution is found to be a third of the spin paramagnetism as in the nonrelativistic case. The results agree with those deduced by Rukhadze and Silin from the perturbation theory in quantum mechanics. Keywords
