Abstract
Benzene hexachloride (6% gamma isomer) or DDT (50%), 8 lbs./100 gal. of spray, applied to the trunk and lower part of large limbs of peach trees during the oviposition period of the moths gave effective control. Against light infestations these sprays were about equally effective in schedules involving 2-3 applications; against heavier infestation benzene hexachloride was better than DDT and, when used in 3 applications, was about as effective as recommended fumigant-type treatments. Hexachloroethane crystals were inferior to the benzene hexachloride and DDT spray treatments. Keywords
