Abstract
A description is given of a source unit of the spark-ignited arc type. The unit has some original features providing wide versatility without elaborate equipment. Some critical requirements for the successful operation of this type of source unit are discussed, illustrations of various cycles are given, and a comparison made between the different types of arc-current pulses. Keywords
