Cure of resin based restorative materials. II. White light photopolymerized resins

Abstract
Abstract— The kinetics involved in the white light photopolymerized resin based restorative materials was investigated by incorporating various inhibitors and photosensitizer into commercial materials. It was found that the depth of cure of these materials increased proportionately to the logarithm of the product of exposure time and radiation dose, and that other factors such as photosensitizer and inhibitor levels in the material also controlled the depth of cure. A mathematical model for the kinetics of photopolymerization for white light systems was found to be in reasonable accord with the experimental data.
