Abstract
Intraarterial retrieval of detached foreign bodies is less commonly encountered than intravenous or intracardiac retrieval. It is technically more difficut because of excessive bleeding through the open end of the retrieval catheter during manipulation of the loop snare. A value that is attached to the hub of the retrieval catheter allows manipulation of the loop snare with little attendant [patient] blood loss.
