Abstract
The moduli of elasticity in polycrystalline cubic wires are calculated by means of the pole figures and the single crystal elastic constants. The particular case in which only the 100-pole figure, R 100() is needed, is based on Reynolds’ paper (1968), while the general method is given by Bunge (1960). The relationship between these methods is presented. Such cases as , and fibre textures and randomly oriented material are considered. Finally the influence of radial preferred orientations on Young's modulus is discussed.
