Abstract
The diffraction pattern due to shear waves in glass can be observed in the absence of compressional waves by submersing the glass in a liquid and exciting the shear waves by means of ultrasonic waves in the liquid impinging on the glass at an angle larger than the critical angle for longitudinal waves. Keywords
