Abstract
Pulsed breakdown electric field strengths have been measured in two S‐band cavities filled with dry air at a temperature of 4 °C in the approximate pressure range from 1 to 1000 Torr. The data were taken at a pulse repetition frequency of 20 Hz and for effective pulsewidths of 0.6, 0.2, and 0.1 μ sec. The results are in reasonable agreement with the predictions of Felsenthal based upon pulsed dc breakdown fields. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
