Abstract
Two servo‐controlled balances designed to measure forces exerted by molecular beams are described; usable sensitivities are of the order of 10−5 dynes. One balance is designed to measure accommodation coefficients on interchangeable targets, which may be heated up to 1000°C. The other, in conjunction with an ion‐gauge, may be used to measure absolute molecular beam fluxes and mean incident energies in both single and binary mixed beams. Keywords
