Abstract
Acids are used or produced by industries worldwide. Acid vapors in high concentrations are irritating to the eye, skin and mucous membranes of persons exposed to them. Sample collection of selected acid vapors from air is reported. Known concentrations of various inorganic and organic acid vapors were generated and collected on solid sorbent tubes containing Chromosorb P impregnated with Na2CO3. The analytes were desorbed with distilled water and analyzed via conventional analytical methods. Laboratory data are presented with mean recoveries ranging from 88-103%. A comparison is made between field samples collected by impingers and tubers. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
