Abstract
The hypothesis presented envisages dengue virus infection in a host with preexisting parasitic infection. The dual infections may produce alterations in the immunoregulatory system that would lead to depletion of T suppressor cells. The resultant augmented production of IgG and IgE may be responsible for type III and type I hypersensitivity reactions, respectively. Keywords
