Abstract
Infrared-thermography is a new diagnostic method especially useful in clinical observation, and therapy control. During infrared thermography, the emission of heat originating from the body surface is recorded by a detector. An electronic system converts the radiation picture into a television picture which is used for measurement. The exact determination of temperature is performed by isotherms. An exact cartography of the thermoprofile can thus be obtained rapidly and easily, and temperature differences of the body surface and superficial blood vessels can be measured. The value of the method was demonstrated in a case of arterial embolism of the right arm successfully treated by thrombolysis. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
