Thermal Decomposition of Methyl Titanium Chlorides

Abstract
The thermal decomposition of CH3TiCl3 and (CH3)2TiCl2 in C2Cl4 and C6H6 has been examined over the range 20 to 110 °C under a nitrogen atmosphere utilizing n.m.r. spectroscopy, mass spectroscopy, and elemental analysis. The reaction products are found to be the result of at least four separate, simultaneous, and competing reactions.
