Abstract
The fungal component of the corticolous crustose lichen Buellia stillingiana was isolated from ascospores and cultivated on malt ex-tract-yeast extract agar. A mycelium formed very rapidly and within a month numerous brown conidia were produced. These conidia are morphologically identical with the imperfect fungus Sporidesmium folliculatum (Corda) Mason and Hughes.
