Abstract
We have carefully measured the Raman scattering and infrared absorption spectra of the C-N stretching region of Pt · 3O. The expected polarization differences between and modes were observed along with a large frequency splitting between the modes. We attribute this frequency splitting to significant differences in the environment of the two platinum sites in the crystallographic unit cell.
