Abstract
Buds taken in summer of 1946 from infected peach trees were grafted to trees of 4 vars. of apricot and 8 vars. of plum; in 1947 buds were taken from these inoculated trees and placed in peach trees (natural carriers). Disease symptoms expressed in these peach trees in 1948 showed that Jones and Early Horn vars. of apricot, and Big Mack and Duarte-Satsuma vars. of plum, can carry western X-disease virus. Some evidence that Climax plum may also carry and show symptoms of the virus is presented. Keywords
