Eastern Equine Encephalitis in Massachusetts — First Human Case in 14 Years

Abstract
IN 1957 Feemster1 reviewed the history of human eastern equine encephalitis in Massachusetts. He noted that the first human case was recognized here in 1938 and that there had been a total of 50 cases through 1957. The 50 cases had occurred in three epidemics: 34 in 1938; four in 1955; and 12 in 1956. No cases have been reported since then.Case ReportJ.S.
