Abstract
ALTHOUGH the orbit is not a common site of involvement in most diseases, exophthalmos and other orbital abnormalities are associated with a surprisingly wide variety of systemic and local conditions. Therefore, it is important to be familiar with diagnostic procedures that may provide information about the localization and cause of lesions in this area. The recognition of certain clinical features can expedite the evaluation of lesions within or near the orbit. Disturbances of visual or ocular motility are often initial findings in patients with orbital abnormalities. Detailed physical examinations of the eyes and orbits are necessary before more sophisticated diagnostic . . .Keywords
