Abstract
Irradiation of aqueous suspensions of carbon black with a pulsed laser heats the carbon particles to high temperatures, initiating chemical reactions. In addition to H2, CO, and CO2, the usual products in the carbon–steam and shift reactions, CH4, C2H2, C2H4, and C2H6 are also produced as the carbon is consumed. Keywords
