MONOSEGMENTAL VERSUS PLURISEGMENTAL INNERVATION OF THE GASTROCNEMIUS AND PERONEUS MUSCLES OF THE FROG

Abstract
This article summarizes further experimental evidence that the gastrocnemius muscle of the frog is monosegmentally innervated. A comparative study of tensions developed by 3 types of muscles[long dash]triceps, gastrocnemius and peroneus[long dash]demonstrates that the more nearly parallel the pattern the more completely the conception of 1 nerve fiber for 1 muscle fiber meets the requirements.
