Abstract
Summary: The incidence of vaginal infection in a group of patients in whom spontaneous rupture of the membranes and subsequent premature delivery occurred was compared with the incidence in a control group of patients. The incidence of vaginal moniliasis was essentially the same in both groups of patients. However, the incidence of vaginal trichomoniasis was 2.2 times higher in patients who had spontaneous rupture of the membranes and subsequent premature delivery than in the control group of patients (P < 0.01).Keywords
