Abstract
Outlines the results of a study designed to examine the effects of trust status on perceived organizational culture and over time. Through the adoption of a prospective longitudinal design and incorporating both pre‐ and post‐trust measures it has been possible to ascertain a number of issues including the move from a support‐based to a power‐based culture with greater autocracy and centralization of power and control. Further research is planned to examine the impact of these changes on the health and performance of individuals moving through the transitional stages of major organizational change. Keywords
