Abstract
Describes Orthoceras coralliforme from Devonian deposits of north Africa (Saoura region, Algeria, and Tafilelt region, Morocco). Because the structure of internal molds resembles that of certain rugose corals, orthoceratids have frequently been erroneously assigned to Arthrophyllum. A satisfactory explanation for the structure has not yet been found.
