Abstract

The crystal and molecular structure of the reaction product of (Ph₃P)₂C and Mn(CO)₅Br, [Mn(CO)₄(C₂PPh₃)Br], has been determined and the complex found to contain the unusual phosphonium acetylide, Ph₃P⁺–CC:^–.
