Abstract
We have developed an electron spin resonance (ESR) microscope which utilizes a localized magnetic field modulation. The device consists of a conventional ESR spectrometer, a tiny coil for localized field modulation and a mechanism for scanning the modulation field. A two dimensional image associated with the spin distribution at the surface is obtained by the phase-sensitive detection of modulated signals. The resolution does not depend on the linewidth of ESR signals but on the geometry of the coil. The principle and device configuration are presented along with representative data of two dimensional ESR imaging. Keywords
