Abstract
Research on changes of lens metabolism due to aging postulate the knowledge of animal age. It has been demonstrated by biostatistical and biometrical methods that a growth curve of lens weight once established may serve to estimate the age of an animal if no other information is available. For this reason 3-parametric semi-logarithmic growth functions are very simple and fitting models for lenses of bovine, rabbit, guinea-pig and chicken. Keywords
