Abstract
SUMMARY: Fifteen anthocyanin pigments were isolated from the lowbush blueberry, Vaccinium angustifolium Ait., and identified by chromatographic, spectral, and chemical properties. The 3‐monoglucosides and 3‐monogalactosides of delphinidin, malvidin, petunidin, peonidin, and cyanidin were isolated; also present in small quantities were the 3‐monoarabinosides of the same five anthocyanidins. The glucosides were present in much greater quantity than the galactosides or the arabinosides. Several diglycosides were also present, but in quantities too low for identification. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
