Abstract
This paper is a review of the author's 1976 "Principles of Sociotechnical Design." While most of the principles set out there have stood the test of time and experience, modifications are needed. In particular, the principles that govern the process of design and the activities of the design team are even more closely bound up with the principles governing the design itself. Some new principles are proposed. More attention is given to the needs of the organization as a society. Keywords
