Abstract
A type of growth stimulating activity is associated with a protein fraction containing ribo- nucleoprotein and possessing, for material prepared by rather crude separation procedures, a surprisingly high de gree of homogeneity in electrophoretic migration and ultra- centrifugal sedimentation. Growth promoting activity was also found in adult tissue prepns. made similarly, hence the substance concerned seems quite widely distributed in tissue cells, though masked in adult tissue extracts by a relatively high proportion of non-active components. Keywords
