Abstract
The influence of thyrotropin on the effects of cortisone and ACTH on tissue respiration and alkaline phosphatase in liver and on the activity of d-amino-acid-oxidase in kidney was studied in male hypophysectomized rats. TSH increased respiration and d-amino-acid-oxidase and decreased alkaline phosphatase, thus opposing in each case the effect of cortisone and ACTH.
