Abstract
The effect of 5-iodo-2[image]-deoxyuridine (5IDU) in a series of 20 cases of herpes-genitalis was compared with results in 20 patients treated with "Penotrane Jelly" and 20 cases treated with an inert compound used as a control. Five IDU and Penotrane shortened the total duration of the lesions of herpes-genitalis by 1.95 and 2.1 days, respectively, and shortened the duration of the lesions after treatment by 2.8 and 3.15 days, respectively, compared with an inert compound. Keywords
