Abstract
The pair-distribution coefficients of the ground state of even nickel and tin isotopes are determined using both the standard BCS state and its number-projected component. The comparison of the results shows that a consistent number-conserving determination of the coefficients is, in general, necessary in the framework of the so-called projected quasiparticle Tamm-Dancoff approximations. Keywords
