Abstract
The detection of porphyrins produced from .delta.-aminolevulinic acid was evaluated for use in speciation of the Haemophilus. Clinical isolates (248) of nonhemolytic Haemophilus were tested concurrently for porphyrin production and for X [hemin] and V [adenine dinucleotide] requirements. The porphyrin production test was more rapid (4 h) and more accurate than the satellite test. [H. influenzae and H. parainfluenzae were tested.].This publication has 10 references indexed in Scilit:
