Abstract
Various authors have allocated a diagnosis of tricho-dento-osseous syndrome to cases originally reported as amelogenesis imperfecta (hypomaturation-hypoplasia type) with taurodontism. The resulting confusion has prompted this critical review of the literature, and further information has been obtained from the authors concerned. Criteria for diagnosis of the two conditions are proposed. Keywords
